The Cudgegong River is a tributary of the Macquarie River. Starting the journey near Rylstone and flowing through Mudgee into Lake Burrendong and the Burrendong Dam.
Windamere Dam, the dam nearest Mudgee, is also on the Cudgegong River.
Mudgee locals and visitors alike enjoy fishing, sailing and waterskiing.
At the southern end of the dam there are barbecue areas, on-site caravans, and a concrete boat ramp. There are stocks of golden and silver perch, Murray cod and catfish.
Dunns Swamp is located in the Wollemi National Park. An ideal spot for bushwalking, camping, canoeing, swimming, fishing and picnicking. Spend the day spotting platypuses and kangaroos. World-heritage listed sandstone rock formations provide excellent views.
